Jitsfit Home School Program

Fall Semester 2023: Ages 6-14 (older kids may be admitted with instructor permission)

Cost: $104.95 monthly. 2 classes a week during the semester. We are an approved PEARL CBI for those using PEARL.

Classes: 2 classes meet twice a week each.

Class 1: Mondays and Wednesday 2:00-3:00pm
Class 2: Wednesdays and Fridays 3:00-4:00 pm
Class 3: We are looking to open a morning class. At this time we’re expecting to offer a M/W class from 9:00-10:00am. Please fill out registration form and check that you’re interested in this new class 3.

limited to 20 children per class. (over limit with instruction approval)

What to Expect

Daily Schedule

Drop off: 10 minutes before class start time. (kids play or interact on mat with other kids while they wait to start.

Fitness: 10-15 minutes

Jiu Jitsu warmup and fitness movements. e.g. shrimping, tumbling, animal movement

Basic Jiu Jitsu Tactics: 30 -40 minutes

Students learn how to perform basic Jiu Jitsu movements to prevent or escape bully behavior, physical attack, or competition. Includes mount, closed guard, and standing, and other relevant Jiu Jitsu strategy and tactics.

Anti-Bully: 5-10 min

Students learn about bullying and how to respond to bullying behavior using “verbal jiu jitsu” and other techniques to defuse the situation if possible, or to control the aggressor until help arrives.

Jiu Jitsu Games: 10-15 minutes

Fun games that reinforce Jiu Jitsu movement and physical confidence.

Wrap-up and Pick-up: within 15 minutes after class session. Kids can wait on until parent arrival.

Where and What to Bring

Pick-up/Drop-off: Jits for Life, 9920 Levin Rd. Silverdale

Attire: We would like all kids to have a Jiu Jitsu Gi and Belt by the end of the second week. (See information in green box) Until then, comfortable athletic clothing: t-shirt, leggings/shorts. Sandals or easily removed shoes.

Equipment: Please pack light snack and water.

Safety: As an option we recommend that your child wear a mouth guard during drilling and games. It is especially helpful if they have braces.

GI INFORMATION

A GI will be needed. Click the button below for a link to Amazon for good values on IBJJF GIs. Our students buy Elite, and Sanabul brands. REX is a new brand but looks promising and is a bit less costly. BE SURE your GI comes with a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu belt. This belt has a black bar on one side for promotion strips. Elite and REX provide these. It looks like Sanabul is moving in that direction.
